Best Classes Tier List

Choosing the right class is the most important decision you make at the start of a run. While some classes excel at combat, others are designed for long-term base building and resource management.

S-Tier (The Meta)

These classes are essential for high-streak survival (Night 50+).

  • Cyborg: * Abilities: Permanent Night Vision and a built-in HUD that tracks entity distance.
    • Why it’s S-Tier: It removes the need for torches or flashlights, allowing you to use both hands for combat and save precious Wood.
  • Assassin: * Abilities: +50% Movement Speed and +100% Critical Damage from behind.
    • Why it’s S-Tier: The best class for “Hit and Run” tactics against Cultists. You can outrun almost every entity except The Deer.

A-Tier (Strong & Reliable)

Great for team play or specific farming goals.

  • Lumberjack:
    • Abilities: 2x Wood harvest speed and +20% durability on axes.
    • Why it’s A-Tier: Wood is the most consumed resource. This class allows you to build a massive fortress in half the time.
  • Explorer:
    • Abilities: Reveals the locations of Secret Chests and The Trader on the mini-map.
    • Why it’s A-Tier: Best for Diamond farming. You can find high-tier loot much faster than any other class.

B-Tier (Situational)

Good for early game or support roles.

  • Warrior:
    • Abilities: +50 Base HP and reduced knockback from enemies.
    • Why it’s B-Tier: Solid for beginners who take a lot of damage, but lacks the utility of the higher tiers.
  • Blacksmith:
    • Abilities: Reduces the Scrap cost for tools and weapons by 25%.
    • Why it’s B-Tier: Very useful for the first 10 nights to get Iron/Steel gear quickly, but loses value once you are fully geared.

How to Unlock Classes

To change your class, you must spend Diamonds at the Main Menu or the Class Pedestal in the spawn area.

  1. Starter Classes: Warrior, Lumberjack (Free).
  2. Advanced Classes: Explorer, Medic (500 Diamonds).
  3. Elite Classes: Cyborg, Assassin (1,500 – 2,500 Diamonds).

Pro Tips for Class Picking

  • Solo Play: If you are playing alone, Cyborg is the undisputed king. Not having to worry about light sources is a massive advantage.
  • Duo Play: Have one player pick Lumberjack (to build the base) and the other pick Assassin (to defend the fire).
  • Diamond Farming: Switch to Explorer, spend 3 nights only looting chests, then restart or die to keep the diamonds and buy the more expensive classes.
